Knight Frank Property app

The new Knight Frank property app is aimed at residential and commercial clients across the globe. It features the option to Search by Lifestyle, shortlist and favour properties, book appointments with Knight Frank agents and arrange property viewings. Users can also locate Knight Frank offices near them and just walk in to speak to an agent directly.

My role was to first form an analysis report through market research, looking at direct competitors who provide mostly desktop solutions therefore the KF app was in the same market with the apps of portal websites. I run customer surveys to identify what key information they are looking from a property listing to book a viewing. Then I redesigned the UI of the app and new iconography.

The challenges:
The property marketplace for rentals is extremely competitive. Properties come off the market really fast so speed and early access were of essence. To justify users on a rental mission downloading the app rather than using portals, we decided to offer them exclusive access to some of the properties before they appeared on the portal websites.

Many high-net-worth individuals are on the property market to buy a trophy asset or to enhance their property portfolio with a holiday home. To give these users incentive, I proposed Shop by Lifestyle as an alternative, more relevant way to search for properties.

High priority goals were:
Incentivise users to download the app. Identify user pain points and make key property information available. Make ‘contact agent’ to book a viewing very simple and quick. Offer screen shoppers on the market to buy a property an alternative way to search.
